A Vote For Amendment One Would Save Taxpayers Millions.
Although wording on the ballot is confusing, Amendment One would ABOLISH the pension program which District Attorneys and Circuit Clerks now have and require new DA’s and Circuit Clerks to make contributions to the state retirement system, same as other state employees do. It would replace the old “supernumerary” system in which these officials currently make no contributions.
The passage of Amendment One is projected to save the state between $10-15 million annually.
